1. What we collect
We collect personal information you provide directly through this site’s forms:
- Contact form: name, email, phone number, and your message.
- Property appraisal requests: name, property address, mobile number, email, and any selling timeframe or message you provide.
- Offer details submissions: property address, offer price, deposit amount, purchaser and (if applicable) second purchaser contact details, and purchaser’s lawyer details if you choose to provide them.
- Free property report tool: the address you search, and, if you continue past the initial search, the contact details you provide to view the full report.
We also collect standard website analytics data (pages visited, general location, device type) through the tools described in “Cookies & analytics” below.
2. Why we collect it
We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, appraisal request, or offer submission, to contact you about buying or selling property, and to send you confirmation of what you’ve submitted. We don’t use it for any other purpose without telling you.
3. Third parties who process your information
A few tools on this site are provided by third parties, who process the information you enter under their own privacy policies, not just ours:
- HubSpot: our Contact, Appraisal Request, and Offer Details forms are hosted and processed by HubSpot, a customer relationship management platform. Submitting one of these forms sends your details to HubSpot’s servers as well as to Team Ants. See HubSpot’s privacy policy.
- Cotality (the Free Property Report tool): if you use the online property report tool, your searched address and any contact details you provide are collected and processed directly by Cotality, our property-data provider, under their own privacy policy, not stored by Team Ants beyond what they choose to share back with us as a lead.
- Google Maps: our Contact page embeds a Google Map. Loading it may set cookies from Google, governed by Google’s privacy policy.
- RateMyAgent: reviews shown on this site link out to RateMyAgent, an independent third-party review platform. We don’t collect anything through those links, they simply take you to RateMyAgent’s site.
We don’t sell or rent your personal information to anyone. Where a third-party tool above is based overseas, your information may be processed outside New Zealand as a necessary part of using that tool, consistent with the Privacy Act 2020’s rules on disclosure outside New Zealand.
4. Cookies & analytics
This site may use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to understand how visitors use it and to measure the performance of our advertising, where these are enabled. These set cookies or similar technologies in your browser. This data is aggregated and doesn’t identify you personally to us. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google’s browser opt-out tool, and manage Meta’s ad tracking through your Facebook ad preferences.
5. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry, appraisal, and offer information for as long as it’s relevant to our relationship with you, and as needed to meet our record-keeping obligations as a licensed real estate agency under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 and associated Anti-Money Laundering (AML/CFT) requirements. You can ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep for these reasons, see “Your rights” below.
6. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it’s wrong. To make a request, contact us using the details below. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
